The Kansas City Chiefs are considering Clemson offensive tackle Blake Miller as a potential right tackle in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft. With two first-round picks, they may prioritize positions like cornerback, receiver, and edge, while also addressing the tackle position.
Kansas City Chiefs draft projections arenāt hard to find this time of year. The 2026 NFL Draft kicks off on April 23, and the Chiefs have two first-round selections (No. 9 and 29). While everyone has an opinion on what the Chiefs might do, obviously, not everyone agrees.
However, there are NFL insiders who have spent the past few weeks and months gathering intel from Chiefs sources, giving them a better indication of what might happen. Recently, Sports Illustratedās Albert Breer was running through examples of what the Chiefs may do, and in the process, may have offered some insight based on what heās heard from those in the know.
According to Breer, the Chiefs may ālikeā Clemson offensive tackle prospect Blake Miller as a right tackle. Yet, thereās a trio of positions Kansas City may be prioritizing in the first round, including tackle.
āI think at No. 9, youāre looking at corner, receiver and edge as possibilities, with the need to backstop the tackle position at some point in the draft.Ā Also, the idea of taking Oregonās Kenyon Sadiq at the very least is a consideration. So letās say, for example, they take Delane at nine, and they like Clemsonās Blake Miller as a right tackle prospect, but the pool of seven expected first-round tackles starts to run dry in the mid-20s. Thatās a scenario where maybe you see Veach and Andy Reid make a move.ā
SIās Albert Breer on Chiefsā draft plans
After selecting Josh Simmons with the 32nd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Chiefs feel they already have their left tackle. Finding a capable right tackle shouldnāt be as difficult, yet theyāve already swung and missed a few times, such as with the $80 million Jawaan Taylor signing in 2023.
Yet, Miller is as experienced as an offensive line prospect could be, starting 54 games at right tackle for Clemson. Thereās plenty of tape on him; itās just a matter of where the Chiefs feel like they can nab Miller, which could be toward the latter half of the first round.
