The Seattle Seahawks ended up making eight selections in the 2026 NFL Draft. They selected former Kansas wide receiver Emmanuel Henderson Jr. with a sixth-round pick (No. 199 overall). Henderson was the only receiver drafted by the Seahawks this year.
Henderson will have a tough time making the Seahawks' 53-man roster. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, and Rashid Shaheed all return as the top three wideout options. Even Tory Horton and Jake Bobo are back to round out the top five. If Henderson wants to make the roster, he'll have to impress on special teams.
He's built to do exactly that.
Henderson's wide receivers coach at Kansas was Terrence Samuel. Coach Samuel recently joined 93.3 KJR in Seattle to discuss Henderson. He had glowing things to say, especially about his abilities on special teams.
"He can run all day," Coach Samuel said on local radio. "His ability to go make plays in special teams. I've coached for a while, and I haven't had a guy understand that third part of the game the way he did."
The Seahawks return all five of their top special teams performers from a year ago (Brady Russell, Mike Morris, D'Anthony Bell, , and ). It'll be a challenge for Henderson. His abilities on special teams need to make the difference.
Emmanuel Henderson Jr. was drafted in the sixth round, with the 199th overall pick.
Henderson will compete against Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, and Rashid Shaheed for a spot on the roster.
