Red Sox Promoting Nate Eaton Leaves Major Question Unanswered
Red Sox are promoting Nate Eaton, but who will be removed from the roster?
The 2026 NFL Draft will feature players who can excel in fantasy football based on their fit within teams. Identifying these players is crucial for maximizing fantasy potential and achieving success.
Thriving in the NFL isn't just a matter of talent. It's a matter of fit.
Some players wind up in schemes where their abilities aren't maximized. Others join loaded rosters where they'll have to wait patiently for the reps to be a star. But a few will land in an ideal spot where they can shine brightest and prop themselves up in rookie of the year conversations.
Those are the players who can carry you to fantasy football glory.
Last year, tight ends like Tyler Warren and Harold Fannin thrived as safety net targets for flawed quarterbacks. Tetairoa McMillan stepped into WR1 duties for the Carolina Panthers and helped push them to an NFC South title. TreVeyon Henderson emerged as the top tailback for the AFC champions.
The mission today, still some four-plus months from the start of the 2026 regular season, is to find the rookies best set up to thrive on the field and in the box score. Who landed in the best spot to build a superstar campaign? I've enlisted the help of fantasy scribe and Rhode Island Scumbag Mike Boyajian to help figure it out. We're gonna tackle this draft-style, with each of us selecting the rookies we think have the best chance to star in their NFL debuts.
Cam Ward's rookie season was the kind of test the ancient gods would throw at Hercules. Because neither of his parents is an immortal, he mostly failed, struggling behind a weak offensive line, operating a playbook that did little to boost him and taking command of an offense where the top wideout, by targets, was fourth round rookie Elic Ayomanor. To use a football term, this was all .
The article discusses players like KC Concepcion and Nick Singleton as potential top fantasy fits for the upcoming draft.

Tennessee has taken modest steps to improve that. Head coach Brian Callahan, fired after six games, was replaced by Robert Saleh. His Jets tenure suggests that may not have a great effect on the offense, but it should boost the defense enough to lighten the load. The offensive line remains iffy and the run game will depend on Tony Pollard (and a rookie we'll discuss later) being quietly efficient again. The biggest improvement, however, came at wideout. Wan'Dale Robinson is a nice addition. Tate is the headliner.
The Ohio State product is exactly what you'd expect from the Big Ten's "WRU." While he's merely an above average athlete, he's a polished route runner who creates separation to find space when his offense needs it the most. After a season of relying on high-ceiling, low-floor wideouts in Ayomanor and Chimere Dike -- who will still have a role in the offense this fall -- he now gets a high-ceiling, high-floor wideout who can be his third down huckleberry in Tate.
Tate should be targeted early and often for a team not yet ready to make the flip to contention. The Titans will trail throughout the 2026 season, leaving Ward to wing the ball downfield in an attempt to catch up. That's where Tate can thrive, racking up targets and using his tracking to haul them in even if Ward's off-target rate doesn't meaningfully improve in year two.
Tyson should work opposite the established Chris Olave, and while he may not have the volume Tyler Shough sends the veteran's way he should still thrive. The pressure won’t be on him to be top dog in offense immediately, giving him time to adjust and, importantly, fewer double teams with which to contend.
Tyson is strong, with good size (6-foot-2, 203 pounds) and a polished approach to his routes. He could end up being the best rookie WR in this year’s draft if he’s able to stay healthy. Head coach Kellen Moore’s offense in Dallas supported both CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper when they were paired. This year's Saints team should look similar.
The quarterback situation in Cleveland remains murky. What better way to boost a flawed quarterback than an elite yards-after-catch merchant? After all, that's what keeps the San Francisco 49ers churning out hits.
Concepcion and fellow rookie Denzel Boston will help transform the Browns' passing game in different ways. Boston wants to cook folks with his deep game (specifically the high long post). Concepcion just needs the ball in his hands to generate big gains -- and, given his drop issues in 2025, the simpler the better.
That's a valuable safety valve for new head coach Todd Monken, though it won't be all Concepcion is good for. Monken gave Lamar Jackson the green light to throw downfield even throughout his 2025 struggles, which means we're going to get to see the rookie flex the full power of his route tree as Shedeur Sanders tries to hero-ball his way into the top 30 starting quarterbacks or Deshaun Watson, formerly accused of more than 20 counts of sexual misconduct and what the NFL itself described as "predatory behavior," attempts another doomed comeback.
The only concern is the sudden depth of playmakers in Cleveland. Concepcion and Boston join Jerry Jeudy, Cedric Tillman and Harold Fannin on the QB wishlist for the Browns, with Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson adding utility out of the backfield. That's not an unimpeachable group (especially given how brutal Jeudy's 2025 was), but there's a fair amount of talent there. Still, Concepcion has the most playmaking ability of anyone. Monken, looking to make a splash after being hired as the team's "uh, sure, why not?" option, is smart enough to get the ball in his hands.
Bell's draft stock fell due to late season ACL tear, wiping out his chance at a Day 1 selection despite first round skills. He's a big, strong, and fast receiver who’s hard to take down with the ball in his hands.
He had a very productive college career. His second-best game of 2025 came against best defense he faced when he roasted Miami -- the national runner-up -- for 136 yards and a pair of touchdowns (the best? 12 catches and 170 yards against an 11-win Virginia team). According to scouts, he plays with a chip on his shoulder, and he improved as a wideout every year while at Louisville. To top it off, the Miami receivers room is wide open following the exodus of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
There will be competition for targets, even if A.J. Brown is traded this summer. DeVonta Smith remains a presence, Dallas Goedert will have a handful of random 85 yard, two touchdown games and Makai Lemon can be an immediate target across the field. But Stowers stands to be a threat in the middle of the field who straddles the line between tight end and massive slot receiver.
The additions of Lemon and Stowers are an indication of what Philadelphia wants to see out of Jalen Hurts. The talented-but-undersized quarterback is capable of winning with throws over the middle, but hardly utilizes the space. That led to a predictable offense and was partially responsible for 2025's fall-off. Now he's got two young studs who can create separation or settle into soft spots in zone between the hashes.
Lemon will be fine. Stowers could crack the top 10 in a rising position where young players have been making an early impact more consistently. He's a different kind of tight end than Goedert, who can be an engaged blocker when he wants to (2025 was a bit of a crapshoot) but has those in-line chops to make 12 personnel sets a nightmare for opposing coordinators to figure out. A truly absurd athlete, the former four-star quarterback picked up about half his yards after the catch last fall and, more importantly for our purposes, was the gotta-have-it huckleberry for an undersized mobile quarterback in Nashville.
Stowers turned his quick processing as a quarterback into the ability to diagnose defenses from the slot or in line. He's an asset, even if he's not a traditional tight end. That means you're getting slot reps from a guy who'll be a combined TE1.5/WR3 in Philly. Expect the targets to come.
Did every running back this year get drafted to a team with an incumbent starter? It seems that way. I chose to focus on Singleton partially because Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears are pending free agents, and neither was particularly impressive last season.
The new coaching staff opted for the uber-athletic Singleton, described as a “size-speed” prospect. He can contribute across the board. Not only does he possess breakaway speed, but is an improved pass catcher as well. He could force his way in as a starter sooner than later, especially with a new regime that understands 2026 is a gap year to set up a 2027 rise back to contention in Nashville.
