Lightning in a bottle. That is what teammates call him. The best example comes from the Indianapolis Coltsā postseason push featured on Hard Knocks. Frank Reich called it out to announce that Kenny Moore II had been named to the Pro Bowl. His teammates went wild because that is the type of teammate Moore II is. His greatness didnāt stop on the field, however. He may have been a beloved teammate at West 56th Street, but he was an even better human away from it all.
Moore II was a three-time nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award. That speaks incredible volumes about his character. Moore II visited Riley Childrenās Hospital over 40 times, befriending Mason Garvey, who was battling Stage 4 Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma. You may remember the moment Mason ran onto the field with Moore II in 2019. Their friendship provided light in the darkest of days for the Garvey family.
The work didnāt end there. In 2022, Moore II founded the Love One Foundation which helps provide resources and joy to underprivileged children. When his hometown of Valdosta, GA was hit with a hurricane, his foundation provided 13,000 meals to people who were affected by this natural disaster. He did the same again after Hurricane Idalia and Helene. Add a summer football program and other fundraisers such as a celebrity softball game to the mix of what Moore II has brought to the area.
Moore II also spent time at Cardinal Ritter High School visiting students and talking to them about life skills and mental health. He offered his time to mentor students and help ensure they are on the right track. Getting students tickets to home games is another effort to give them a special memory and time to simply enjoy life.
The list goes on and on. Kenny Moore II was a great player with the Colts and will be sorely missed on the field. He will be missed in the locker room by his coaches and teammates as well. The best part is that Moore IIās work in the community will go on, and his impact will continue to be felt. His football journey may be taking a turn, but his vision for focusing on the betterment of others remains constant. Thanks for everything, Kenny.
