Kentucky has signed Ajsa Sivka, the No. 10 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky. Sivka chose to finish high school in Europe and play for Slovenia before joining the Wildcats.
May 6 (UPI) -- Kentucky signed Ajsa Sivka, whom the Chicago Sky selected as the No. 10 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, the Wildcats announced Wednesday.
Sivka opted to forgo joining the Sky last season to remain in Europe to finish high school and play for the Slovenian national team in the 2025 FIBA Women's European Basketball Championship.
"I am delighted to welcome Ajsa to our program," Wildcats women's basketball coach Kenny Brooks said in a news release. "Her combination of size and skill will fit into our system seamlessly.
"Ajsa is a tremendous shooter, scorer and playmaker from the wing position and she will add experience to our team. Big Blue Nation, let's welcome Ajsa to our family!"
Brooks' Wildcats were 25-11 last season. They lost to the Texas Longhorns in the Sweet 16 of the 2026 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament.
Sivka, a 6-foot-4 guard averaged 7.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game over three appearances at the EuroBasket Women's Championship.
The Sky selected guard Hailey Van Lith with the No. 11 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. They selected forward Maddy Westbeld and guard Aicha Coulibaly in the second round. They waived Van Lith, Westbeld and Coulibaly on Monday.
The Sky picked UCLA forward Gabriela Jaquez in the first round of the 2026 WNBA Draft. They picked up Ole Miss forward Latasha Lattimore in the second round and Kentucky guard Tonie Morgan in the third round.
The Sky, who tied the Dallas Wings for the worst record (10-34) in the WNBA last season, will play the Portland Fire in their regular-season opener at 9 p.m. EDT Saturday in Portland, Ore.
