The hits keep on coming for the Florida State Seminoles on the recruiting trail. For the second time on Friday, a key target has committed elsewhere, with four-star running back Ty Keys committing to the Miami Hurricanes.

Keys has been a priority for new FSU running back coach Kam Martin, with them extending him a scholarship offer on Jan. 10. He wasted no time visiting Tallahassee, attending a Junior Day on Jan. 17, and returning to watch spring practice on March 30. They received multiple predictions to land his commitment after that visit, but nothing ever happened, and the Hurricanes were able to surge ahead and seal the deal with the Poplarville, Mississippi, product.

He is ranked as the No. 213 overall player and No. 14 running back in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 7 player from Mississippi.

Keys is coming off an excellent junior season at Poplarville High School, where he rushed for 3,285 yards and 45 touchdowns, averaging 10.9 yards per carry and averaging 252.2 yards per game. He would have been an excellent addition to FSU's 2027 recruiting class, which currently has just six members.

He is the second major target that FSU has missed out on Friday, with top quarterback target Wonderful Monds IV committing to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish earlier in the day. The Seminoles currently have the No. 34 recruiting class in the country and the No. 8 class in the ACC, according to 247Sports.

While it is tough to miss out on Keys, Martin has FSU in the mix for several other targets. They are set to host four-star prospects Gary Walker, Brayden Tyson, and Jayden Miles on official visits this summer. Three-star prospect Marquis Fennell also has an official visit set, and Martin recently visited him.
