Khamzat rematch put on hold as Sean Strickland reveals extensive damage in UFC 328 shoulder injury

Bad news for Sean Strickland, who just had his injured shoulder checked out after UFC 328.

“Type 2 AC separation,” Strickland wrote on social media. “Extended Type V SLAP tear. Partial rotator cuff tearing/tendinosis. Gonna have to walk this one off.”

AC separation is a dislocation of the joint where the collarbone (clavicle) meets the highest point of the shoulder blade (acromion), according to Cleveland Clinic. A Type V SLAP tear is considered a more severe injury with a detachment of the labrum and biceps tendon.

Arthroscopic surgery is common, with an average recovery window of six months.

The news isn’t that great for Khamzat Chimaev, either, after losing a controversial split decision to “Tarzan” in the UFC 328 main event last weekend in Newark. Despite , “Borz” is now “obsessed” with .
