Kyle Hamilton praised Zay Flowers for his versatility and explosiveness, noting his ability to run the entire route tree effectively. Hamilton believes Flowers' skills make him a challenging matchup for defenses as the Ravens prepare for the upcoming season.
Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton offered high praise for wide receiver Zay Flowers this week, describing the second-year receiver as a difficult coverage assignment whose versatility and explosiveness stand out even in practice.
“For a smaller guy, he runs the whole route tree. There’s not like [a preference of] inside [or] outside. [He can play] wherever you want, at X, at Z [or] at F in the slot. He runs every route, and there are not a lot of guys at his size that are doing that. And he wins on those routes. You can’t cover him in man, and he’s getting better at finding areas in zone, and his [run after catch ability] is up there with the best. I can honestly say he’s probably the quickest, shiftiest guy that I’ve ever seen with my own two eyes, and that’s tough for other teams to play against, which you guys have seen in the past year. So, I think the accolades, the stats that he’s gotten are not by accident. He’s a super hard worker, too, and I’m just happy for him and happy that he’s a Raven.”
Hamilton and Flowers have continued to work together regularly throughout the offseason program, with Baltimore using the early installation period to refine timing and spacing across multiple offensive looks ahead of training camp.
As the Ravens continue building their offense, Flowers' growth and versatility could make him a centerpiece of the passing attack. With strong reviews coming from one of the league's top defensive playmakers in Hamilton, Baltimore's offense may have a matchup problem that opposing defenses will struggle to contain in 2026.
