The relationship between Javier Tebas and Florentino Perez has once again descended into open conflict after the La Liga chief launched a strong public attack on the Real Madrid president during an event in Santander.
Tebas did not hold back when discussing recent comments made by Perez regarding the now-defunct media outlet Relevo.
The Real Madrid president had suggested that La Liga financially support the platform in order to attack the Spanish giants, claims that Tebas completely rejected.
Speaking during a public appearance, the La Liga president expressed frustration with the accusations and directly accused Perez of spreading false information.
Addressing the issue, Tebas said, “I’ve told him this on social media platform X. Sometimes he says we’ve given the outlet 25 million, other times 10.
“It’s a lie. They’ve even come to check the accounts.”
The latest clash comes shortly after Perez held a press conference where he discussed several matters surrounding both La Liga and Real Madrid’s current situation.
Tebas responded by suggesting that the club president regularly positions himself as the victim in public disputes.

“It’s sad that a man like Florentino, with the business reputation he has and everything he’s done for Real Madrid, has to come out and lie and make these claims.
“Everyone knows I’m a Real Madrid fan, even though I’m taking a break at the moment. I feel sorry for Real Madrid because you can’t keep telling lies all the time.”
Tebas also referred to Perez’s decision to call elections at the club, but made it clear that he respected the president’s authority to make those decisions internally.
“The Real Madrid president will do what he believes is best for the club; resigning and calling elections is not among his options, so we must respect that.
“He is the club’s president, so he is the one who knows the situation best,” he explained.
Still, the strongest remarks arrived when Tebas accused Perez of repeatedly creating stories of persecution around Real Madrid.
Tebas said that the Real Madrid president has once again spread a “hoax”, and accused him by stating that he thrives “on playing the victim of persecution.”
