For the first time since suffering a hamstring injury in early April, Los Angeles Lakers star guard Luka Doncic spoke to media members about the injury and the resulting absence.

Doncic has been sidelined for the entirety of the postseason so far as a result of the injury, and at this point it's not known exactly when he'll be able to return to game action for L.A.

Understandably, Doncic being forced to watch his team fight through the postseason without him has been frustrating for Doncic.

"It's very frustrating. I don't think people understand how frustrating it is. All I want to do is play basketball, especially this time. It's the best time to play basketball," Doncic said, via ESPN.

"It's very frustrating seeing what my team is doing. I'm very proud of them. It's been very tough to just to sit and watch them play."

Doncic is about five weeks removed from suffering the injury, and he revealed that he was initially given an eight-week return timetable by his doctor.

If that timetable holds firm, Doncic would still be about three weeks out from a potential return.

"The day I did the MRI on the hamstring, the doctor told me eight weeks [recovery] at the beginning," Doncic said. "I'm doing everything I can in the process, and I think we're on a good way. But at the beginning, he told me eight weeks."
