The Charlotte Hornets had a fantastic second half of the season. They were beating almost every team in their path, but they had a mediocre first half, which meant they had to fight through the Play-In Tournament for a spot in the Playoffs.

Unfortunately, they fell at the final hurdle. They lost in a 121-90 blowout to the Orlando Magic. However, LaMelo Ball and the rest of the Hornets believe they should be proud of what they achieved this season.

The Hornets are often cited as one of the teams on the lower end of the league. That is evidenced by their 10-year postseason drought, but it looked possible this season. Unfortunately, they could not get past their slow start.

Head coach Charles Lee and the Hornets proved that they belonged in the top part of the league with their performance in the second half of the season. This should be an important lesson for the team as they keep developing.

LaMelo agrees with that sentiment because he made sure to hammer down the point that this is a monumental lesson for the Hornets. If they can keep playing at a high level, they can get into the Playoffs and finally end their drought.

"Obviously, hurt a lot, but I feel like it's all just learning lessons. You live, you learn, you evolve, and you move on, you know? It's better than the previous seasons, so that's good, but still not making the Playoffs, that hurts," .
