FC Barcelona were dealt a major setback earlier today as it was confirmed that Lamine Yamal would not be playing again this season.
The 18-year-old La Masia graduate had to be taken off late in the first half during last night’s game against Celta Vigo, moments after he had scored a penalty, due to a hamstring issue.
Following tests conducted earlier today, it was confirmed by the club that the youngster is done for the season, in which Barça still have six games left.
But the Catalans did mention that the teenager is expected to be available for Spain for the summer’s FIFA World Cup.
Following the bitter blow, Lamine Yamal has broken his silence for the first time, taking to social media to send a message to all his fans and well-wishers.

“It hurts not to be able to fight alongside my teammates, not to be able to help when the team needs me. But I believe in them and I know they’ll give their all in every match,” he wrote.
Vowing to come back stronger and better from this setback, the 18-year-old sensation added:
