The Raiders selected Texas A&M OL Trey Zuhn III with the 92nd overall selection on Friday night. Zuhn III, a former potential top 10 pick, slid down with below average length, though heās likely to kick into G at the NFL level. Las Vegas has former 2nd rounder Jackson Powers-Johnson, signed Tyler Linderbaum & Spencer Burford, and also drafted Caleb Rogers in the third round last year. Zuhn will have competition, but heās a young, physical, and athletic OL that projects with good upside.

Zuhn does a lot right, and very little wrong. He has an elite frame, and exceptional strength in his upper & lower body. He has good footwork, a fluid lower half, and he bends well in his hips. Zuhn shows great mobility, burst, and quickness for his size. He pairs that with elite strength in his core, lower body, and upper body. Zuhn will fire off the ball, use his size and strength and simply drive defenders into the dirt. He has an elite motor, nasty streak, and heāll consistently just punish defenders through the rep. Zuhn looks for contact in open space, identifies his target and gets to the second level quickly. He has good mobility in the open field, a natural stance, and he will consistently extend his full weight into the rep. As a pass protector, Zuhn anchors well, has violent active hands, and he punches hard. He lacks true length with just 32 3/4ā arms, but Zuh does a great job keeping his pads low, using his core, and engaging his hands to snatch and trap defenders. He works well laterally and vertically, and his experience helps him identify a ton of stunts, blitzes, and twists where he pairs his elite athleticism and mobility to adjust and defend the boundary or interior. When he worked at center briefly, Zuhn consistently found a way to knock defenders, worked well in help blocks, and his interior laterally quickness was exceptional. Zuhnās lower half is stout and strong, heāll anchor well, and he keeps his lower half driving through the rep to knock defenders down. Zuhn plays with exceptional body balance control, and doesnāt lean in his reps. He doesnāt commit penalties either with 5 of his 10 coming in 2023 alone and just 2 the last two seasons. His 96.8 PBLK grade, per PFF, was the highest in Division one history since PFF started tracking.
His biggest concerns come with his time at tackle, though he could stick there. The average to below average length is a concern, and he is well below the standard for someone 6ā6. Zuhn doesnāt look overly comfortable at times in a kick step, and he can let his outside hip get too exposed where he struggles with twitchy pass rushers. Zuhn will need to do better keeping his pads lower in certain pass protection situations and heāll pop too high. Additionally, he can get caught flat footed or on the back of his feet at times preparing for something and trying to overthink a rep, which causes him to get out of place. Iād like to see him get better working to the outside and trying to seal off a block, where heāll be a bit slow to react at times, though a move to guard should elevate that. He saw a noticeable dip in his run blocking in 2025, though heās remained elite throughout his career. Zuhn can struggle to recover to speed rushers at tackle, and he is very limited on versatility having shown nearly 98% of his career at LT. Zuhn does come with a minor injury history having a torn ACL (2021), torn labrum (2022), and dislocated kneecap also in 2022 but nothing since.
Zuhn projects as a starting G in the NFL, though he provides T and C flexibility as well. He will need to add a bit more power, but he does win well with what power he has and the pure athleticism as well. Despite his age at 23, and experience with nearly 3200 snaps, Zuhn shows the ability to develop into an above average guard at the NFL level, though his best future may also be at center. He has an elite hand combat bag, good initial movement skills, and heās the last guy on an OL that Iād want to be coming at me through the A, B, or C gap. Zuhn is a fun watch, heās a true run game first player, but can provide a lot of upside at G as well. The adjustment to guard and center should come naturally, ideally sticking him on the left side, and heāll be able to tap into his initial movement, anchor, and violence to help solidify his role. Itās rare to see a player with his size, initial movement, and strength in the NFL, and heās someone worth developing and utilizing to anchor your OL for a while.
