The New England Patriots are "definitely not" planning on firing head coach Mike Vrabel, according to NFL insider Albert Breer.
Some have questioned Vrabel's job security as information continues to drip about his interactions with Dianna Russini, a former reporter for The Athletic. The story has dominated headlines ever since photos of Vrabel and Russini, who are both married, surfaced, seemingly showing the two holding hands and embracing.
Breer was asked about Vrabel's job status during an appearance on 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Hardy.
"I would say at this point it's definitely not in their plans to move on from Mike Vrabel," said Breer. "I think if you look at the actions of the Krafts, I think it's been a month now, right? Since the photos came out, almost everything has been done in an effort to protect his employment, to protect his team's image."
It's important to note that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell shut down the notion that Vrabel could face potential discipline by the NFL, given the current knowledge of the situation.
"No, this is not a personal conduct policy, as we know today. It's a personal matter, and we'll leave it at that," Goodell said.
