“We felt we were struggling a bit, and we’ve told each other many things, even tough ones, but they were very useful. I think we’ve taken a clear step forward as a group in recent games. Many showed a lot of what they hadn’t been able to do before. There are people who have brought out so much more than they were able to do before. It gives me great satisfaction and pride to play with them. There were guys who suffered a lot because of their national team matches.”

Lautaro released the interview alongside his strike partner, Marcus Thuram.
“We are very different, and it’s something that makes us get along,” said the Argentine.
“He [Thuram] is a very cheerful person, he jokes a lot, and in moments of tension, of pure adrenaline, he manages to provide balance. You can all see which type of player he is, but it is the strength of the group that makes you close a circle to achieve goals. We give our all on the pitch and share duties.
“I can only thank him. Since he arrived, speaking the same language has helped me a lot,” Lautaro continued.
“He behaves the same way with everyone, and I thank him because he releases me from a lot of tension and the need to always be serious. I do it not only to set an example, but also because this is the way I’m made. I thank him because the lads are happy.”
The Nerazzurri bounced back after finishing the 2024-25 campaign empty-handed, but even those losses helped the Nerazzurri improve.
“I think so. Defeats are always part of a career, and they leave something for you,” Lautaro noted.

Questioned over Inter’s upcoming Coppa Italia Final, Lautaro said: “It would mean a lot. It’s been missing for too long. It’s a way to end the season the way we’ve always dreamt. There were issues, but we overcame them. Today we have a trophy in our hands, and we’ll try to grab the second in a difficult match and take it home.”
