Lazio Following Second-Generation Brazilian Youngster
Lazio are reportedly tracking young Cruzeiro winger Kaique Kenji, a profile that adheres to their current market strategy.
In recent weeks, the Biancocelesti have been linked with a host of South American players, especially young Argentine defenders, who were brought to the management’s attention after catching the eye of the club’s scouts.
According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, a young Brazilian talent has also made an impression on the Aquile’s scouts, and his full name is Kaique Kenji Takamura Correa. The 20-year-old is the son of Kleber, a retired left-back who earned 22 caps with the Selecao. The youngster was born and raised in Sao Paolo, but he is also eligible to play for Japan thanks to his mother.
Kaique is a right-footed player who mostly features as an inverted left winger. He can also play as an attacking midfielder or a centre-forward.
The forward initially began his career at the academy of Corinthians, before moving to Cruzeiro. Last May, he earned a promotion to the first team, but he has yet to lock himself a prominent role in Artur Jorge’s plans, as the manager is only sporadically using him. He has only made seven appearances across all competitions, scoring a single goal.
As the source explains, Lazio still plan to rejuvenate the squad by poaching young and exciting talent from all over the globe. While the club has yet to open talks for Kaique, the Brazilian has been added to the shortlist.
Kaique Kenji is a young winger from Cruzeiro, and Lazio is interested in him due to his potential and alignment with their market strategy.
Lazio's current strategy involves targeting young South American players, particularly from Brazil and Argentina.
Lazio has been linked with several young Argentine defenders in addition to their interest in Kaique Kenji.

The 20-year-old could become Mattia Zaccagni’s understudy, especially if Angelo Fabiani and Co. opt against spending €14 million to buy Daniel Maldini from Atalanta. The latter was supposed to act as the captain’s back-up, but Maurizio Sarri insists on deploying him as a striker despite his shortcomings in front of goal.
