âAlex and Justin, weâd love to have those guys back. Weâd love to have them back, regardless of whatâs in the draft. We see those guys as Broncos. If we let those guys leave, what are we doing? There is a lot to like about Alex Singleton. First, heâs tough as they come. In 2024, he tore his ACL early in the game vs. the Bucs and played through the pain the rest of the game without giving up. Then, this past year, he unfortunately learned he had testicular cancer and still played a Thursday Night game vs. the Raiders with this on his mind. He would tell his teammates after the game, and thankfully, he had successful surgery and returned to the field a few weeks later. You cannot deny his mental and physical toughness. His biggest play last season came in the Broncos thrilling Divisional Round victory over the Buffalo Bills. The Bills were up 7-3 and driving early in the 2nd quarter, and honestly, it started to look like the wildcard game the year prior. However, Singleton would hit Bills running back James Cook hard and force what would be a game-changing fumble for the Broncos, who would go on to win this game in overtime.
**Alex Singleton | Linebacker | Denver Broncos**
Alex Singleton will be a team captain and starting linebacker, and will wear the green dot once again this season for the Broncos. He will start alongside Justin Strnad, whom the Broncos also re-signed this offseason, and be the Broncos starting linebackers heading into the 2026 season. You know what youâre getting with Alex Singleton. Team leader on and off the field, he will be the quarterback of the defense, get a ton of tackles, and struggle at times in coverage and space. He has been a starting linebacker for the Broncos for the past four seasons, and we have seen his highs and lows as a player. 2026 should be no different. The Broncos trust him to lead their top-ranked defense, and he will do that once again in 2026. With that said, he is 32 years old and will turn 33 late in the season. Father Time is undefeated, and we have seen Singleton struggle at times in space and in coverage already. These struggles would be magnified if he were to lose a step and become a liability in certain areas of the defense. Obviously, we do not want that to happen, but it is a legitimate concern to keep an eye on as we progress through the season.
At the end of the day, the Broncos like Alex Singleton a lot more than most fans. They value his knowledge of Vance Josephâs defense, his leadership on and off the field, his teammates love him, and they view him as a key part of their potential Super Bowl run this upcoming season. Itâs as simple as that. Hopefully, the Broncos are proven right, and Singleton is a key piece to the Broncos 2026 Super Bowl-winning team. If he struggles, fans and media will be questioning this move.
