LeBron James has played in 293 playoff games in his storied career, winning 185 of them.
He has won four NBA championships, and captured four NBA Finals MVP awards.
But before Saturday night, he had never done one thing in the postseason: he had never played with his son Bronny.
That changed when the father-son duo took the court in the L.A. Lakers’ 107-98 victory over the Houston Rockets in Game 1 of their Western Conference playoff series.
“I mean, I was on the floor with my son, like in a playoff game,” the 41-year-old NBA legend told reporters after putting up 19 points, 13 assists, 8 rebounds and 2 steals in 38 minutes. “That’s probably the craziest thing that’s ever happened to me in my career.”
Bronny played 4 minutes in the second quarter and had no stats other than one turnover. Bronny played 42 games during the regular season, with one start, averaging about 9 minutes per game.
“It’s just so cool to be out there with him and his brother and sister and his mom in the building, and his grandma," LeBron said. “That’s just insane. My mom gets to watch her son and her grandson during the playoffs, that’s crazy.”
The Lakers won despite playing without injured stars Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, while the Rockets were without (right knee).
