Leeds United Are Facing Stiff Competition For This Gifted Striker: Is He Worth The Fight?
In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey mentioned that Leeds United are facing stiff competition for Feyenoord striker Ayase Ueda. It has been claimed that the Whites would have to rival Tottenham Hotspur in the race to land the Japanese attacker this summer.
Ueda has enjoyed a brilliant campaign in the Dutch Eredivisie as he has produced a string of impressive displays for Feyenoord in the final third. The 27-year-old has banged in 26 goals and grabbed two assists in 38 matches for the Dutch club this season across multiple competitions.
The Japan international is currently among the most feared strikers in the Eredivisie. Hence, it is no surprise that the Whites are in the running to sign him at the end of this campaign.
His current contract at the Dutch club will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it difficult for Leeds United to sign him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Ueda excels at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He can create the odd chance for his teammates in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.
The Japanese sensation has proven his worth as a top goal-getter in the Dutch Eredivisie. However, there are some question marks over whether he can replicate his good form in the Premier League if the Whites manage to bring him on board in this summer transfer window.
We can expect Ueda to add more firepower to Leeds United head coach Daniel Farke’s attack. He is more than capable of fighting with Dominic Calvert-Lewin for a regular starting spot at Elland Road next season.
At 27, Ueda is about to enter his prime soon, which makes him a worthy target for the Yorkshire giants to pursue this summer. However, Farke has to give him some time to adjust to life in England before he can get the best out of the talented striker. With all things considered, he would be well worth the fight, so Leeds United should focus on going all out to win the race for his services.
