Leticia Pinho on Peru clash: “We want an excellent performance”

The Brazil Women’s U-17 National Team returns to the field on Friday (1) to face Peru in the fourth round of the South American Championship group stage. After the team’s final training session, forward Leticia Pinho shared her expectations for the match and how the squad prepared.

“Expectations are the best possible. We want to play an excellent match to earn the three points and secure our place in the semifinal,” she said.

“The preparation was very good. We only adjusted a few details, because we’ve already been well organized since the period we spent at Granja Comary,” she added.

Brazil is in first place in Group B with six points. Next are Ecuador (2nd - 4 points), Venezuela (3rd - 3 points), Uruguay (4th - 3 points), and Peru (5th - 1 point). With either a draw or a win, the Canarinho will already secure a place in the semifinals of the competition.

The match between Brazil and Peru will be played at 8 p.m. Brasília time on Friday (1) at Estádio Ameliano Villeta in Paraguay, and will be broadcast live on SporTV.

In an interview with CBF TV, Pinho spoke about how she feels representing the Brazilian National Team. Besides being a source of happiness for her, it also makes her family proud, and they support her no matter where she is.
