‘Let’s make the fight happen’: Jarrell Miller calls for Deontay Wilder showdown

Following his decision win over the weekend. Jarrell Miller talked about wanting to stay busy as he hopes to be back in the ring soon in order to keep up some positive momentum. Miller continued to call for a fight against Deontay Wilder and hopes some pressure from boxing fans might coerce Wilder into taking it.

“I think if the fans call [Wilder] out enough, they’re going to want to make that fight happen,” Miller said. “Let’s make the fight happen, man. We’re the two top American heavyweights. We both can make people tune in and I think me and my slick talking and him and his weird, dramatic speeches and entrances — I think it’ll be entertaining.”

Miller was also asked about his thoughts on Anthony Joshua, who he obviously would like to fight but knows it’s realistically not in the cards for the time being. Joshua was just announced his next fight this summer.

“Of course I’d love to fight AJ but at the same time he’s probably got some ring rust. So, you know, you got to give him a little time.”

Miller’s trimming down for his most recent outing was also a subject of discussion, to which he said getting leaner has helped him return to form.

“I was 317 for the last fight and I lost about 10 pounds for that fight. So after that fight I only went up about six pounds so I probably lost about a good 20 pounds…I’m thinking maybe 299 is where I want to hit, kind of see how my body feels.”
