5-star Monshun Sales on Indiana official visit: âFelt great to get back up thereâ
Five-star receiver Monshun Sales returns to Indiana for an official visit.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have improved their roster but still need to address key positions, particularly safety. With uncertainties at quarterback and depth issues at inside linebacker, wide receiver, and tight end, the team may look for veteran additions.
Sure, quarterback still sticks out like a sore thumb, but until proven otherwise Iâm assuming Aaron Rodgers will be back in 2026. And even if not, after drafting Drew Allar in the third round this year, Pittsburgh has reason to see whether the Penn State product sinks or swims in the NFL. Elsewhere, I wouldnât mind seeing a competent veteran signed at inside linebacker, wide receiver, or tight end. None of those position groups look devoid of talent by any means, but the inside linebacker room remains unchanged following a disappointing 2025. Meanwhile, the wide receiver and tight end rooms still lack ideal depth behind the top names, and at receiver Pittsburgh could use another tall speed threat besides Metcalf. However, each of those position groups are largely locked into place entering the summer. Sometimes you just want some extra names to prepare for the inevitable injuries (and disappointments) of camp. The position where the Steelers could still likely add a player who could be a significant part of the team would be at safety. There, the team has a starting-caliber duo in DeShon Elliott and , but with still unsigned, the depth is worryingly thin. was a fun UDFA name last year who hasnât proven much beyond that, while rookie Robert Spears-Jennings is an intriguing athlete still a ways from being an NFL starter. Beyond that, Elliott is coming off a season-ending injury, and both he and Brisker are best as box safeties. Cornerback is another name to throw in the safety mix, but he too is at his best closest to the line of scrimmage, not as a center fielder. The issue, of course, is that the isnât all that inspiring. But at the moment, itâs the most concerning position on Pittsburghâs roster. ***What do you see as the Steelersâ biggest roster need following the draft?*** *Join the BTSC community and let us know in the comments!*
