Hamilton replied: “Me too, yeah! My whole life, I was always like ‘I can’t wait,’ and I never ended up driving as me.”
Not understanding, Leclerc asked Hamilton: “Who do you choose then? You choose me? I’ll be honored.”
Hamilton appeared to be confused because in earlier F1 game career modes, players often had to create their own driver. However, in F1 25’s Driver Career, players can also compete using selected existing Driver Icons rather than only a custom-created racer.
The Briton said, “I drive the car… that I drive, but I don’t,” before being interrupted by Leclerc, who said, “Do you choose your teammate?”
Hamilton answered: “No, it doesn’t have my helmet.” It was at that moment when Leclerc remembered the career mode in previous versions of the F1 game, while Hamilton said:
“When I’m doing it, it’s just the car.”
Leclerc affirmed: “Yeah, that is true. Because when you do you, like your own career mode, sometimes it’s like you need to create your driver. But I’m in the game, and I cannot choose myself. That’s the problem I had also in the past.”
Hamilton added: “Yeah, because you’re your own character.”
Acknowledging the issue, Leclerc said, “You cannot pick a driver of the game. So this is a problem.”
The solution could be for them to play F1 25, where they would be able to choose themselves.
