Since the age of 12, Thompson has never missed a U.S. Women's Open. The streak dates back to 2007, when she made her debut at Pine Needles and set a record as the youngest to qualify.
Thompson's 19 consecutive Women's Open appearances tie the longest active streak with Amy Yang.

Two years ago at the U.S. Women's Open, Thompson announced she was stepping away from full-time golf, leaving many to wonder whether Lancaster Country Club would be her final appearance at the championship that first brought her fame nearly 20 years ago.
Thompson can still play her way into the field two different ways: win an LPGA event or climb into the top 75 in the Rolex Rankings by May 25.
Thompson, an 11-time winner on the LPGA, currently ranks 94th in the world. She tied for 12th at the Chevron Championship last month, her second start to the season.
There are just three LPGA tournaments left before the Open. Thompson is in the field at this week's Mizuho Americas Open and has signed up for next week's Kroger Queen City Championship in Cincinnati. The ShopRite LPGA is two weeks after that, and it's the final event before Riviera.
