The Licking County Shrine Tournament is relocating to Licking Valley and will take place from June 5-15. This change follows the end of the partnership between the Shrine Club and Mound City Little League.
NEWARK - The Licking County Shrine Tournament is moving to Licking Valley.
The organizers of the premier recreational baseball event announced the change and new partnership with the Licking Valley Youth Sports Association on social media on April 12. The Licking County Shrine Club and Mound City Little League ended their partnership in November.
The Shrine completed its 80th tournament last summer, with it being held for the majority of those decades at Mound City. Admission fee has always been $1, with proceeds going to Cincinnati Burns Hospital, Lexington (Kentucky) Orthopedic Hospital and Erie (Pennsylvania) Hospital.
The Licking County Shrine Tournament is moving to Licking Valley. The event will be held from June 5-15.
The tournament will continue to have divisions for Farm (ages 9 and 10) and Varsity (ages 11 and 12) teams. The social media post noted each division will be open to 32 teams.
One notable change is a condensed schedule with the tournament to begin June 5 at McGee Park and Legacy Park and end June 15. Interested teams can register by contacting the Shrine Club at lickingcountyshrinetournament@gmail.com.
