LIV Golf announced Tuesday that one of its teams, Smash GC, is rebranding as OKGC.
The team, headed by former Carl Albert and Oklahoma State standout Talor Gooch, debuted its Oklahoma-centric branding at Citizen House in downtown Oklahoma City. LIV made the announcement Tuesday amid questions about the league’s long-term sustainability. The Athletic and others recently reported that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund might pull its funding of the league, which started four years ago as a rival to the PGA Tour.
