Liverpool has identified a £35m replacement for Alexis Mac Allister, focusing on Mamadou Sangare as a top midfield target. The club faces stiff competition for other options like Adam Wharton and Elliott Anderson.
Liverpool have already lined up a £35m replacement for Alexis Mac Allister
Seeing as though almost every Premier League club is looking for a new midfielder or two this summer, Liverpool are going to have to cast their net far and wide to find their perfect man.
Indeed, the usual options such as Adam Wharton and Elliott Anderson have been floated about but, since the two Englishman are some of the most sought-after players in the world, competition for them will be fierce.
This is where Liverpool's transfer market creativity will have to come into play.
And, as per an update from journalist Bence Bocsak, Mamadou Sangare could be the exact sort of player Liverpool are looking at signing.
"[Mamadou] Sangare is a high intensity player," he said on the Anfield Watch Podcast.
"He is very good at making quick decisions on the ball, he [does] quick passes, he’s a little bit similar to [Alexis] Mac Allister but on top of that he’s got that intensity, he’s got that running ability that Liverpool have missed.
"For me, I think he’d be a really nice fit as well, and again, considering RC Lens paid €8 million or something like that for Sangare, they’re not going to want to demand a massive price tag.
Liverpool's £35m replacement for Alexis Mac Allister is Mamadou Sangare.
Other midfield options for Liverpool include Adam Wharton and Elliott Anderson, both of whom are highly sought after.

"I think there’s talk of €40 million to €50 million which translates to around £35 million and that is a lot more of a reasonable fee."
As mentioned, Liverpool's midfield is in need of a rebirth.
The Anfield outfit have massively struggled this season with the club currently fourth in the Premier League table.
Usually, earning Champions League qualification wouldn't be frowned upon but, since they only just won the title and spent over £400 million on new players in the summer, a lot more was expected of the Anfield outfit.
However, that hasn't been the case which has led to the club needing to re-enter the transfer market to bolster their ranks once again.
Sangare joined RC Lens in the 2025-26 summer transfer window for around £6.9 million.
And, while many didn't think much of the transfer, he's been an instant hit.
The Malian has played as a central midfielder for most of the current campaign and he's even contributed to seven goals across all competitions thus far.
Sangare is only 23 years old which makes his £35 million price tag understandable, especially with the promise he's shown this term.
