Liverpool is reportedly interested in Jarrod Bowen as a potential replacement for Mo Salah. Bowen may leave West Ham United at the end of the season, regardless of the club's relegation status.
Liverpool interest in 29-year-old Mo Salah replacement is confirmed
Liverpool hold an interest in one of the Premier League's most interesting forwards. Is he able to replace Mo Salah, though?
DaveOCKOP reports that Liverpool have an interest in Jarrod Bowen and he’s on their summer shortlist. Bowen may leave West Ham United at the end of the season.
It’s said that Liverpool’s interest does not hinge on West Ham remaining in the top flight or not. The Hammers are in a relegation battle right now and if they go down, it’s almost certain that Bowen moves on.
But Liverpool will ask about him anyway. It’s a move that really does ‘make sense’ - in that it’s a classic Liverpool move.
The Reds have wanted Bowen for years and he was touted as a potential signing back in 2022 when Mohamed Salah nearly left the club. Now, four years on, they may finally move for him.
Though, Bowen will turn 30 in December and this would be his final real opportunity to move to a club challenging for major honours. We expect that would make them an easy to sell to the player himself but it is a strange one as an investment from the club.
Replacing Salah this summer won’t be easy, though, and we imagine the ‘replacement’ will be more than one player. Bowen could play a real role in that, boosting the squad depth and adding experience on the flank. Experience that Liverpool are set to lose with Salah’s exit.
Liverpool sees Jarrod Bowen as a strong forward option to potentially replace Mo Salah, who may leave the club.
Jarrod Bowen is currently with West Ham United, who are facing relegation, which could influence his decision to leave the club.
Bowen's transfer prospects are likely to be unaffected by West Ham's relegation, as he is expected to move on regardless of the club's fate.

Performance and West Ham Struggles
As of 21 April 2026, Jarrod Bowen remains the offensive linchpin for a struggling West Ham United. The 29-year-old captain has recorded eight goals and eight assists across 33 Premier League starts, including a standout two-assist display in a 4–0 victory over Wolves on 10 April. Despite his consistent output and a 7.18 average rating, the Hammers sit 17th—just two points above the relegation zone—following a recent 0–0 draw with Crystal Palace.
Transfer Links and Liverpool Interest
Bowen’s future is under intense scrutiny as Liverpool identify him as a top candidate to succeed the departing Mohamed Salah. Reports suggest that if West Ham are relegated, the "crown jewel" of their squad would likely be sold to offset revenue losses. Even if they stay up, Liverpool's recruitment team is reportedly preparing a summer move for the forward, who is under contract until 2030.
International Role
On the international stage, Bowen was included in Thomas Tuchel’s recent 35-man England squad for friendlies against Uruguay and Japan. He is firmly on the radar for the 2026 World Cup this June, where he is viewed as an elite left-footed option to support Bukayo Saka.
