Liverpool move for 'very quick' midfielder could come to fruition soon
Liverpool's midfield is in need of a revamp.
The Anfield outfit have underdelivered this season with most of their midfielders failing to meet expectations.
Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch have been the biggest culprits of this with the former of the two even being linked with an Anfield exit.
At the moment, the Reds' midfield is the most stacked area of their first-team squad but, since change is clearly needed, some decisions need to be made.
Several midfielders have already been linked with an Anfield switch this summer and now, Liverpool seem to be moving closer to finally getting one of them over the line.
The name Lamine Camara probably doesn't mean all that much to Liverpool's fans.
The Senegalese midfielder has been a star man for AS Monaco this year with his five goal contributions helping them on their quest for European football.
Although the 22 year old's best position is as a defensive midfielder, Monaco's manager Sebastien Pocognoli has often used him a tad further up the pitch as a central midfielder.
Liverpool is reportedly targeting a 'very quick' midfielder to strengthen their underperforming midfield.
Liverpool's midfield has struggled this season, with players like Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch failing to meet expectations.
There are reports linking Alexis Mac Allister with a potential exit from Liverpool amid concerns about his performance.

He's been one of Ligue 1's best midfielders this season and now, it seems like Liverpool could be gearing themselves up to make a move for the Senegal international.
"Lamine Camara seems to be a target for Liverpool,” Bence Bocsak said on the Anfield Watch Podcast.
“He’s someone who Liverpool like, he is someone who brings a lot of qualities to what Liverpool need.
“And, what is it that Liverpool need? I think right now if you’re looking at the midfield, Liverpool need intensity.
“They’ve lacked that intensity a lot and they don’t really have a lot of fast runners in modified, apart from Dominik Szoboszlai but he’s been playing right-back.”
Later in the podcast, Bocsak revisited the Reds’ interest in Camara and added: “Lamine Camara on the other hand, could come to fruition.
“He is exactly that type of midfielder who can cover so much distance, he’s very quick, he’s very good at anticipating where the ball is going to go.”
As Bocsak mentioned, Liverpool's midfield has lacked intensity this season.
Dominik Szoboszlai has been the main workhorse among Arne Slot's ranks with the Hungarian's performances sometimes even single-handedly winning Liverpool games.
Camara is often tasked with progressing the ball up the pitch in order to help his team create as many chances as possible.
He's been known to dictate play ever since he joined Monaco with his passing being one of his key assets.
His ability to move around the middle of the park is second to none with his attacking movements often creating chances for Liverpool out of nothing.
And, since Liverpool have two high-pressing full-backs in Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong, this way of playing aligns perfectly with their current style of play.
Camara may not be an out-and-out playmaker just yet but, since he's only 22 years old, Liverpool could easily form him into the exact midfielder they want him to be.
