Liverpool have taken their first real step towards a deal for a brilliant creative force.

There's no question that Liverpool need more creativity in their team. Especially as Mo Salah, the creative force for many, many years now, will leave at the end of the season.

In fact, the Reds' right hand side has been hit hard by exits. Salah's comes just one year after Trent Alexander-Arnold departed for Real Madrid, leaving Liverpool with an impossible rebuild.

But they need to do something and that primarily means finding someone who can replace Salah with creativity on the right. It seems they've found a potential candidate, with L'Equipe reporting that Liverpool like Maghnes Akliouche and are currently looking into the player.

Akliouche does fit the bill - 24 years old, right-sided forward who creates as much as he scores. Liverpool would be hoping that he's the kind of player who can move up another level at Anfield, much as Salah himself did.

This is one to watch, then. Salah's exit forces Liverpool into something special this summer Akliouche may ultimately be the kind of gamble they want to take.
