Southwest Guilford won the Metro 6A/7A Conference baseball tournament, defeating Grimsley 2-1. Oak Grove also claimed the Piedmont Triad 5A/6A Conference title by edging North Davidson 4-3.
JAMESTOWN โ Third-seeded Southwest Guilford won 2-1 over top-seeded Grimsley on Thursday at Ragsdale in the Metro 6A/7A Conference baseball tournament championship.
Brendan Snider, Connor Kennedy and Camden Welch each had a hit for the Cowboys (17-9), who scored single runs in the first and third to lead 2-0. Andrew Barefoot drove in a run.
Kaden Morgan earned the complete-game pitching win, striking out seven while scattering four hits and two walks.
OAK GROVE, NORTH DAVIDSON
KERNERSVILLE โ Top-seeded Oak Grove edged second-seeded North Davidson 4-3 in the Piedmont Triad 5A/6A Conference baseball championship Thursday at Glenn.
Addison Terry, who doubled, and Cam Sharpe each had a hit and two RBIs for the Grizzlies (17-7), while Carson Everhart had two hits.
Cooper Hunt, who pitched four innings, and Carson Everhart, who pitched three innings, each struck out four on the mound.
WESTCHESTER COUNTRY DAY, CALDWELL
GREENSBORO โ Westchester Country Day beat rival Caldwell 10-3 in PTAC baseball Thursday at Caldwell.
Ashton Pittman had three hits, including a triple, and an RBI for the Wildcats (16-6 overall, 6-3 conference). Crawford Elrod homered and drove in three while Tyler Mangus had a hit and two RBIs. Kaline Burr-Ellis, Cameron Daniel and Ricky Velez each had a hit and an RBI, and Sawyer Pugh had two hits.
Elrod got the pitching win, striking out eight in six innings.

TROY โ TW Andrews lost 15-0 against Montgomery Central in PAC Seven 4A/5A baseball Thursday at Montgomery Central. The Red Raiders ended the regular season 1-18 overall and 1-11 in the conference.

HIGH POINT โ High Point Central won 15-2 against Lexington in PAC Seven 4A/5A baseball Thursday at Central. The Bison improved to 3-17 overall and 2-10 in the conference.

HIGH POINT โ Southwest Guilford beat Ragsdale 19-9 in five innings Thursday at Southwest in the championship of the Metro 6A/7A Conference softball tournament.
Aniya Harris, who homered, and Kaylee Patel, who doubled, each had two hits and three RBIs for the Cowgirls (14-9), who shared the regular season title with the rival Tigers. Stevee Kendrick and Michalea Worthington each had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs.
Harris earned the complete-game pitching win, while Gracie Jet Cuthrell took the loss, striking out four in four innings.
Genesis Edwards had three hits, including a home run, and four RBIs for Ragsdale (19-2). Gracie Jet Cuthrell also had three hits, while Ellie Cuthrell had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs.
HIGH POINT CHRISTIAN, CALVARY DAY
WINSTON-SALEM โ High Point Christian rolled 19-0 in three innings against host Calvary Day in PTAC softball Thursday.
Southwest Guilford won the game with a final score of 2-1 against Grimsley.

Blakely Bowman homered and drove in five for the Cougars (18-3 overall, 4-0 conference). Landyn Smith and Lillie Taylor each added a hit and two RBIs, while Lila Allred and Bella Dell each drove in two runs.
Paisley Dixon earned the pitching win, striking out three in one inning. Dill added two strikeouts in two innings. The duo combined to not allow a hit or a walk.

HIGH POINT โ Wesleyan Christian won 8-1 against Forsyth Country Day in PTAC softball Thursday at Wesleyan's Sandy Ridge field.
Kayla Raimondi tripled, homered and drove in three for the Trojans (7-12). Allison Cheek also had two hits, while Maris Morgan had a hit and two RBIs and Maggie Cox had a hit and an RBI.
Payton Martin struck out six in four innings, while Morgan had five strikeouts in three innings.

Clark Clodfelter (8-1), Preston Kendrick (8-2), Alex Juarez Garcia (8-2), Kayan Patel (8-4), Kyan Smith (8-4) and Finch Lambeth (8-0) won in singles. Clodfelter/Kendrick (8-1), Garcia/Smith (8-1) and Patel/Lambeth (8-2) won in doubles.
The Wildcats ended the regular season 12-2 overall and 7-2 in the conference.

MEN'S LACROSSE LOSES IN A-10 SEMIS
RICHMOND, Va. โ Second-seeded High Point lost 11-9 against fourth-seeded Saint Joseph's in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 men's lacrosse tournament Thursday at Richmond's Robins Stadium.
Nicholas Steele, Luke Fenderson and Carson Robins for the Panthers (6-8), who trailed 6-3 at halftime. Justin Wixted had a goal and two assists, while Cole Motter and Owen Bunten each had a goal and Ian Cann and Ryan Hynes each had an assist.
Zack Overend made nine saves in goal.
ROCKERS LOSE AT SO. MARYLAND
WALDORF, Md. โ The High Point Rockers fell 8-2 against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in Atlantic League baseball Thursday at Southern Maryland.
Maxi Viera and DJ Burt each had two hits and an RBI for the Rockers (4-5). Braxon Davidson, who doubled, each had two hits, while Bryson Parks chipped in a double.
