Calais Campbell signed a one-year deal with the Ravens after passing his physical. The team also received an international player exemption for C.J. Okoye and waived undrafted rookie Trevonte Sylvester.
The Maxx Crosby debacle has made fans nervous about every acquisition, especially if words “pending a physical” are mentioned in the initial report. But Calais Campbell had no problem passing his physical (at 40 years old!) and signing his one-year deal to return to the Ravens. Financial of Campbell’s contract have also come to light via OverTheCap. He is owed $5.5 million in 2026 with $4.75 million guaranteed ($2.25 million signing bonus, $2.5 million salary). He can also earn up to $750,000 in per game roster bonuses with another $500,000 available via incentive. The deal is very similar to the one he signed with the Cardinals last year.
The Ravens received an international exemption for Nigerian-born defensive tackle C.J. , allowing them to carry an extra, 91st player on the offseason roster. Players are eligible for the exemption if they are non-U.S./Canadian residents or citizens with two or fewer years of high school experience in the U.S. They must also have been eligible for a past NFL draft, meaning they are at least three years removed from high school with no more (or forfeited) college eligibility. The Ravens have consistently taken advantage of this rule both in the offseason and during the regular season, when it allows them to carry a 17th player on the practice squad. Okoye was the team’s designated international player last offseason and on the regular season practice squad until he was promoted to the active roster amid injuries to multiple defensive linemen. Baltimore then signed England native to fill the international spot on their practice squad. Okoye will probably reclaim that spot this year given the team’s suddenly-crowded defensive line room.

Even with Okoye’s IPP exemption, the Ravens needed to make room on their roster to sign Campbell, Skylar Thompson, K’Von Wallace. They opted to waive undrafted rookie offensive tackle Trevonte Sylvester, who attended rookie minicamp on Saturday but did not impress enough to stick around. Sylvester, 24, started at left tackle for the last two years at the University of Louisville, Lamar Jackson’s alma mater. He was charged with 14 penalties in that time, including nine in 2025, but allowed just two sacks on over 500 pass-blocking snaps, per Pro Football Focus. As shown with his lone college touchdown above, Sylvester looked remarkably like a tight end as a sophomore and is still an undersized NFL offensive tackle at 6-foot-5 and 294 pounds. However, his 34-inch arms meet league standards for the position, and he tested well athletically with strong speed and explosiveness numbers. He might be a better fit for a team that places an even bigger premium on athleticism for their offensive tackles.
