Forest overcome Porto to book Europa League semi-final against Villa
Nottingham Forest beats Porto 2-1 on aggregate to reach Europa League semi-finals!
Pat Kelsey is actively building Louisville basketball's 2026-27 roster, having secured commitments from Flory Bidunga and Jackson Shelstad. With only two remaining scholarship players from the previous season, Kelsey needs to continue recruiting as the NCAA transfer portal remains open until April 22.
Pat Kelsey is off to a hot start building Louisville basketball's 2026-27 roster.
The Cardinals' coach and his staff still have a lot of work to do in the NCAA transfer portal this offseason, however.
UofL got on the board April 12 with a package deal: former Kansas big man Flory Bidunga and former Oregon point guard Jackson Shelstad. But, with only two scholarship players from UofL's 2025-26 roster remaining at the time of their commitments in London Johnson and Adrian Wooley, Kelsey & Co. are going to need to keep up the pace.
The portal is open until midnight Wednesday, April 22. That's an entry window; players can take their time finding a new home once they've hit the market. Players who have entered the portal can withdraw their names, but programs are not obligated to hold scholarships/roster spots.
Keep this page bookmarked throughout the offseason for updates on the scholarship players Louisville is losing and adding via the portal.

Bidunga, considered by many to be the top player available in the portal, committed to Louisville not long after wrapping up a visit to campus with Shelstad, who is also represented by Momentous Sports Partners.
Bidunga was crowned Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore. Across 31.6 minutes per game (34 starts), the 6-foot-10 Congolese forward was the only Division I player in 2025-26 to average more than 13 points (13.3 on 64% shooting), 8.5 rebounds (nine) and 2.5 blocks (2.6).
Bidunga reportedly picked the Cards over the likes of Duke, Michigan and St. John's.
When he entered the portal, Bidunga also announced his intentions to test the NBA draft waters. Some, like 247Sports scouting director Adam Finkelstein, believe he's done enough to hear his name called in the first round this year.
"I think he's a first-round NBA draft pick. In fact, I've got him at No. 29 on our big board," Finkelstein said during an April 8 appearance on CBS Sports HQ.
"But here's the thing: That equated this year to about a $2.3 million slot; and he's going to get a whole lot more in the portal. … He's going to be as dominant of a center as there is if he stays in the college game next year."

A 6-1 native of West Linn, Oregon, Shelstad was limited to only 12 games between Nov. 7 and Dec. 28 during his third season with the Ducks. He broke his right hand during a practice roughly a month before the campaign tipped off and reinjured it in late December — leading to ligament damage that shut him down for the remainder of the year.
When Shelstad played, he looked like he had taken another step forward after earning third-team All-Big Ten status as a sophomore. Across his 12 starts (34.8 minutes per), he averaged a career-best 15.6 points on 39.1% shooting (31.4%, 33 for 105, from 3-point range), 4.9 assists (against 1.8 turnovers), 2.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals.
Per BartTorvik.com, Shelstad's 31.7% assist rate ranked ninth in the Big Ten last season. His 12.6% turnover rate was the third lowest among the conference's top 10 facilitators.
For his career, Shelstad is averaging 13.6 points on 43.9% shooting (35.2% from 3) with three assists (against 1.6 turnovers) and 2.9 rebounds across 33.1 minutes per appearance (79 games, 77 starts).

Vangelis Zougris entered the portal April 11 with one year of eligibility remaining.
The 6-8 Greek forward appeared in 27 games (nine minutes per) during his lone season at Louisville, which was his first in the collegiate ranks after four spent hooping professionally back home. He averaged only 2.6 points on 57.1% shooting and 2.4 rebounds.
The 21-year-old did, however, take Sananda Fru's spot in the starting lineup for the final six games of the campaign.
"Just being there every day — same attitude, same mentality," Zougris said after his 6-0 run sparked the Cards' comeback win over SMU at the ACC Tournament. "… I think it's paying off right now."
"Coming over from Greece, (it) just wasn't going the way he wanted it to basketball-wise," Kelsey added. "He was having a struggle adjusting; and then his role wasn't something, obviously, that he envisioned. But he never lost hope — never lost faith."

Mouhamed Camara entered the portal April 7 with four years of eligibility remaining.
The 6-8 forward out of NBA Academy Africa redshirted the 2025-26 season and will leave the 502 without ever taking the court for the Cards.
"I've said many times in interviews when people ask me about him (that) he has an extremely high ceiling. He is unbelievably talented with a huge upside," Kelsey told reporters last October, after UofL announced Camara's plan to redshirt. "He's playing on a team with a lot of older guys and a lot of older guys at his position, so there's no reason to rush him. We have a development mindset with him right now, and all of his people in his camp feel the same exact way.
"(I) love Mo, and I have big plans for him. But the situation he's in now, it's all about development with him."
Louisville Cardinals forward Khani Rooths (9) celebrates after scoring and drawing the foul against Kansas during an exhibition game before UofL basketball's 2025-26 season at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky Friday, October 24, 2025.
Khani Rooths entered the portal April 8 with two years of eligibility remaining. He reportedly committed to Oklahoma on April 13.
As a sophomore, Rooths appeared in 31 games (two starts) for the Cards and averaged 5.3 points on 44.9% shooting (22.4% from 3-point range), 4.3 rebounds and an assist across 15.9 minutes per appearance. He finished eight games with 10 or more points — including a career-high 20 during the season-opening win over South Carolina State — and tallied three double-doubles.
"I think I learned a lot this season," Rooths told The Courier Journal after UofL lost to Michigan State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. "Especially having confidence in myself and being more vocal, speaking up when I needed to and asking for help when I needed it. And definitely leaving it out all on the floor, no matter what happens."
In 69 games at Louisville from 2024-26, Rooths averaged 4.1 points on 42% shooting (22.1% from 3) and 3.6 rebounds across 14.7 minutes per contest.

Fru entered the portal April 7 with one year of eligibility remaining.
The 6-11 German appeared in all 35 games (22.1 minutes per) during his lone season at Louisville, which was his first in the collegiate ranks after four spent hooping professionally back home. He averaged nine points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 1.2 assists.
Fru's 75.3% conversion rate (128 for 170) would have broken the program's single-season record (68.1%, set by Felton Spencer in 1989-90), but he fell five attempts shy of qualifying. And, per Torvik, his 14.9% offensive rebounding rate ranked 27th nationally.
Fru tallied four double-doubles, including one in the Cards' first-round NCAA Tournament win over South Florida, and 17 games with 10-plus points. During the final 10 games of the season, however, he averaged only 5.7 points and 5.1 rebounds across 19.9 minutes per.
"I think, in my second year, I will be even better," Fru told The Courier Journal after UofL's season ended in the second round of March Madness.
