Louisville King's Running Back Jalen Jackson (21) and Louisville King's Defensive End Daniel Grzesiak (44) take the field for the inaugural United Football League season for the Louisville Kings in Louisville, Kentucky at Lynn Family Stadium. March 27, 2026.
Why not start the takeaways with some takeaways? Four interceptions leading to 27 points for the Kings, to be exact.
The first was perhaps the play of the afternoon: cornerback Bryce Hall picked off Renegades quarterback Austin Reed (a former Western Kentucky Hilltopper) and scampered 83 yards for a touchdown to give Louisville a 10-0 lead with 12:23 remaining in the second quarter.
The final score was 47-25 in favor of the Louisville Kings.
The Louisville Kings' defense made a significant impact by recording three interceptions during the game.

The final one turned this game into a laugher: linebacker Antonio Grier Jr. snagged a pass from Reed and ran 46 yards to paydirt to give the visitors a 40-13 advantage with 11:34 remaining in regulation.
Cornerback Corey Mayfield Jr. accounted for the other two picks.
Reed entered Sunday leading the UFL with 11 touchdown passes against only two interceptions through the first four weeks of the season.
That's one way to make life easy for new starting quarterback Chandler Rogers.
Louisville Kingsâ Ian Wheeler tries to make it 1 yard to score a touchdown against Birmingham Stallions in a United Football League game at Lynn Family Stadium. March 27, 2026
Kings fans with fond memories of Benny Snell Jr. toting the rock during his record-setting career at Kentucky were pretty bummed to see the former Wildcat released after last week's overtime win over the Houston Gamblers.
Ian Wheeler likely had them thinking differently Sunday afternoon.
Returning from an injury that sidelined him from last week's win, the 24-year-old Howard graduate spearheaded Louisville's best ground game of the season: 147 total yards on 29 attempts, 5.1 yards per.
Wheeler accounted for 62 of those yards (4.8 per carry) and four touchdowns. James Robinson added 63 on 13 attempts.
Again, that's one way to make life easy for a new starting quarterback.
Louisville King head coach and former UofL quarterback Chris Redman during the first quarter of their first United Football League game at Lynn Family Stadium. March 27, 2026.
Here's how Redman explained the thinking behind the Kings trading starting quarterback Jason Bean (the No. 3 passer in the UFL when it comes to yardage) to the DC Defenders and turning to Rogers.
"It's not so much what Bean didn't do," Redman told reporters Tuesday. "It's what Chandler Rogers is. ⊠What's he's done in camp and then the time he's been on the field â we feel like that he gives us the best chance moving forward."
Rogers did just that Sunday, completing 13 of his 18 pass attempts for 150 yards.
"Not too bad, huh?" he told ESPN's Sam Acho on the sideline during the fourth quarter.
"We just needed somebody to be a leader. Not throwing shots or anything, but we just needed somebody to be like, 'Hey, come follow me.' And that's what I did; I took off and ran with it."
Can the Kings keep it rolling? We'll find out at 8 p.m. Thursday, when they host the St. Louis Battlehawks looking to score their first win at Lynn Family Stadium.
