Shawâs appearance in the weekendâs goalless draw with Sunderland was his 36th start of the campaign. He has started every game this season and is on track to feature from the outset in all 38 matches for the first time in his career.

Thomas Tuchel named an enlarged 35-man squad, effectively picking two groups to give playing time to fringe players while resting more established stars at this stage of the season. Even so, Shaw was still overlooked. Tuchel told reporters that it was a âtough decisionâ to leave Shaw out.
Now, it has emerged that Shaw is in line for a sensational return to the national team ahead of this summerâs World Cup.
According to Mike McGrath of The Telegraph, Shaw is set to be included in Englandâs provisional World Cup pool of players.
McGrath wrote on X, âThomas Tuchel to submit up to 55 to Fifa by todayâs deadline.â
âHe picks his final 26 on May 22.â
Shaw will be hoping that his strong finish to the season will be enough to earn him a spot when the final squad is announced later this month. He has undoubtedly thrown his hat into the ring.
