Northampton Town have been relegated from League One after a late Luton Town winner sealed a 2-1 defeat at Kenilworth Road.
The Cobblers started well and missed an early chance through Sam Hoskins and Tom Eaves. They did eventually take the lead on 31 minutes when Hoskins raced through and lifted a composed finish over the goalkeeper.
The Vertu Trophy winners responded before the break, with Liam Walsh smashing home from distance to bring the sides level.
The second half was much more even, with both teams creating half-chances. Cameron McGeehan went close for the hosts, while Ali Al-Hamadi struck the post as Northampton pushed to stay alive in the game.
Just when it looked like a draw was on the cards, Kal Naismith produced a moment of quality, curling a 30-yard free-kick into the net to complete Luton’s comeback.
