John Martin cancelled out Barry Cotter's opener, before Dipo Akinyemi scored with his first touch after coming on as a substitute to claim all three points and ease the pressure on his manager.
"I'm not going to get overly carried away with this. I think the big thing is what we do about it now.," Lynch told BBC Sport NI's Eric White.
"Three points doesn't mean a huge amount unless we go and build on this and we can carry this win into the next game, which is obviously a massive game for us at home to Shamrock Rovers.
"So, probably more than anything, I'm just more pleased for the players because, as I say, they've been absolutely fantastic," the Derry boss continued.
"It would have been very easy for them to down tools, it would have been very easy for them to throw the head up, it would have been very easy for them to turn on each other in times like that, but they've been magnificent and great credit to them."
Lynch will be hoping the result, which moves Derry up to fifth in the table, can be a turning point in their season
As they end a run of four consecutive away games by welcoming champions Shamrock Rovers to their adopted home of Celtic Park on Friday, 23 April.
The Candystripes will be playing their home fixtures at the home of Derry GAA while a new playing surface is laid at their Brandywell home.
"It's probably one of those situations where the players have to take all the credit for this. As I just told them in the changing room afterwards.
"We've had a difficult period, but at no stage during that period did they ever down tools or not give their all, or not work hard every single day in training.
"We kept talking about if you keep doing the right things, eventually we'll turn that around. We've had a difficult couple of weeks, obviously, being on the road.
"A difficult point away to Sligo, a difficult point away to Dundalk, and then thankfully three points tonight," Lynch said after the win at Tolka Park

"Football is a results-based industry and the fans will very much look at the results as that's what they do, but for us, there were fine margins there and we were probably more frustrated than anybody.
"We hope that we can start giving them back now and we hope we can build on this, but there's a difficult road ahead and we've just got to keep our heads down, keep our backs up, keep working hard and hopefully keep grinding some results out."
