Olympique Lyonnais are reportedly very keen on signing El Chadaille Bitshiabu (20), according to Bild.
A product of the Paris Saint-Germain academy, the imposing 1.96-metre-tall defender left the Rouge et Bleu in the summer of 2023 to join RB Leipzig. After seeing little action during his first season in Germany, he featured more regularly in his second, before his playing time was reduced again in recent months (11 appearances in all competitions, with just six starts since the start of the 2025-26 season).
Criticised for his stagnant progress, but above all for his lacklustre attitude, Bitshiabu had informed his club this winter of his desire to move on to pastures new. At the time, his request was turned down. However, the situation could change this summer, particularly given the interest from several clubs, including Lyon, in prising him away from RasenBallsport.
However, such interest could clash with the German club’s plans, as they risk seeing their defence shaken up during the transfer window and may decide to promote their young defender to the spotlight, especially as his contract runs until 2029.
El Chadaille Bitshiabu wants to leave RB Leipzig due to limited playing time and criticism regarding his progress and attitude.
