The 2026 NFL Draft is here, and we used the EA Sports Madden 26 database to simulate the entire draft. Here is the full first round, along with all of the Kansas City Chiefsâ selections. Some picks may surprise you.
The Kansas City Chiefs drafted Caleb Downs, a safety from Ohio State, at No. 9 and Colton Hood, a cornerback from Tennessee, at No. 29.
The top picks included Fernando Mendoza, a quarterback from Indiana, going first overall to the Las Vegas Raiders.
The simulation utilized the EA Sports Madden 26 database to project the outcomes of the entire draft, including player selections and trades.
Notable trades included the Dallas Cowboys trading their 20th pick to the Philadelphia Eagles and the Miami Dolphins trading their 30th pick to the Bengals.

I would give the Chiefs a grade of B+ if this ends up being their draft.
General manager Brett Veach heavily addressed Kansas Cityâs defense, selecting players on that side of the ball with four of the teamâs first five picks. The Chiefs needed to add an offensive playermaker, and Iâm not sure Klare at tight end is the weapon the offense needs in the third round.
Kansas City did draft a wide receiver, but not until the sixth round. We all know how sixth-round wide receivers usually turn out in the NFL.
