And that is exactly why Jeremy Monga feels like such an intriguing target.
Unlike Dorgu, Monga is a genuine attacking wide player. His first instinct is to isolate defenders, attack space and create chaos in one-versus-one situations.
Dorgu may offer energy, athleticism and tactical flexibility, but deploying him on the left wing would still feel like a compromise.
Monga, meanwhile, looks tailor-made for the role to be a back-up to Cunha.
If United truly want to restore unpredictability in wide positions, Monga appears to be a far more natural long-term solution than converting Dorgu into something he is not.
