Manchester City is linked with a high-profile move for Newcastle's Tino Livramento, but the transfer seems unrealistic due to cost. Other potential targets include Feyenoord's Givairo Read and Atalanta's Marco Palestra.
Manchester City are now linked with a big money move for a full-back but it doesnât realistic
It seems that it is now a daily occurrence that Manchester City are linked with a right-back ahead of the summer transfer window. Lately, Feyenoordâs talented right-back Givairo Read, and Atalantaâs impressive young full-back Marco Palestra have been named as potential City transfer targets by Sky Sports and Gazetta. Those two particular players do seem to fit Manchester Cityâs model of signing players who can play now and develop into regular first-team contributors. A new report has once again linked City with a big-money summer move for Newcastle United full-back Tino Livramento. However, that doesnât seem to be a realistic move given the price it would cost City to sign the England international.
Graeme Bailey has reported for TeamTalk that Manchester City are prepared to break the transfer record for a right-back to sign Tino Livramento from Newcastle this summer. Furthermore, Bailey reports that Livramento is considered Manchester Cityâs dream target for the right-back role. It is also reported by Bailey that Livramento is considering his future at Newcastle. Bailey also reports that have an interest in signing Livramento this summer.
The move for Tino Livramento is deemed unrealistic primarily due to the high transfer fee that would be required to secure his signing from Newcastle United.
In addition to Tino Livramento, Manchester City is also linked with Feyenoord's Givairo Read and Atalanta's Marco Palestra as potential targets for the right-back position.
Tino Livramento is reportedly considering his future at Newcastle United, amidst interest from Manchester City and Arsenal for a potential transfer.

The quality of Tino Livramento as a player isnât in question. That is well-known. Durability is Livramentoâs issue based off of his lengthy injury record during his career. These topics have been covered previously, and donât need to be rehashed here. Graeme Bailey reports that City could launch a big-money move to sign Livramento from Newcastle, and that may not be feasible this summer.
The question for me is will Manchester City spend big on a right-back? They have Matheus Nunes who has solidified himself as top right-back in the Premier League this season. City do not seem to need to spend big to solve an issue at the position. City will also look to bolster their midfield this summer and that looks to be where Manchester City will spend big this summer. A big-money move for Tino Livramento isnât impossible for City to complete, it just doesnât seem to be practical at this stage.
Graeme Bailey also reports that Givairo Read and Brentford right-back Michael Kayode are on Manchester Cityâs shortlist of right-backs to pursue this summer. Those particular moves seem more realistic than City going big to sign Tino Livramento, in my opinion. That may change when the summer transfer window opens. As of right now, it doesnât seem feasible that City will break the bank to sign Tino Livramento.
