The Portuguese international has subsequently missed City’s win over Liverpool and Chelsea due to an undisclosed injury. There was hope that Ruben Dias could return for this Sunday’s top-of-the-table Premier League clash against Arsenal at the Etihad. But that hope has been dashed as the strong centre-back has been ruled out of Sunday’s match.
Simon Bajkowski has revealed for the Manchester Evening News that Ruben Dias won’t play for Manchester City this Sunday against Arsenal. Furthermore, Bajkowski reports that Dias is currently sidelined with an ankle injury. It is also reported by Bajkowski that it is unlikely that Ruben Dias will return this month for an important section of the run-in of the 2025-26 season.
Ruben Dias will miss his fourth straight match now he has been ruled out of this Sunday’s top-of-the-table Premier League match against Arsenal. Manchester City will miss his leadership at the back, however does bring leadership to City’s defence in the absence of Ruben Dias. Also, the centre-back pairing of and Marc Guehi has become an important component of Pep Guardiola’s side. While Ruben Dias will be missed, City do have adequate cover for their defensive leader.
