Manchester United must move for Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly after Fulham masterclass

Myles Lewis-Skelly showcased his extraordinary potential on Saturday as Arsenal dismantled Fulham 3–0 at the Emirates Stadium.

Manchester United would be wise to take note, even if prising him from the Gunners is a formidable challenge.

Although most of his first-team opportunities have come at left-back, the 19-year-old started in a double pivot with Declan Rice. His composure and vision belied his age.

Lewis-Skelly misplaced just two of his 66 passes, won six of nine duels and drew four fouls, helping Arsenal move six points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

For a player used sparingly this season, it was a statement performance at the most pressurised point of the campaign, and Mikel Arteta was full of praise for his ‘exceptional’ starlet.

His left-footedness brought balance to the midfield alongside Rice. Lewis-Skelly looked every inch the modern midfielder – industrious, technically gifted and intelligent in his movement.
