Manchester United to consider Elisabeth Terland sale in summer
Manchester United will consider selling striker Elisabeth Terland in the summer if they receive an offer that meets their valuation.
United signed Terland in 2024 on a two-year deal from Brighton & Hove Albion with an option to extend for one more year.
The Women’s Super League (WSL) side triggered the 24-year-old’s option in December, keeping her at the club until the summer of 2027. United would prefer to recoup a fee to reinvest in the squad rather than let the player leave on a free transfer next year.
According to sources with knowledge of the matter, who wish to remain anonymous to protect relationships, the Norway international would like to stay but the club and player have not reached an agreement over a new deal. The club feel the relationship with the player remains positive.
Terland rejected a new contract offer in November.
For the second year running, she is the club’s top goalscorer this season with 15 goals in 31 games across all competitions, consolidating upon her impressive first season in which she scored 12 goals in 27 games.
The centre forward, however, has not featured since a 2-1 win over Everton on March 21 because of an injury affecting her calf and Achilles. Head coach Marc Skinner said last week she could be back for the last game of the season against Chelsea on May 16.
United also bolstered their attacking threats in the January transfer window by signing 28-year-old forward Lea Schuller from Bayern Munich and 21-year-old striker Ellen Wangerheim from Hammarby.
