The Toronto Maple Leafsannounced Tuesday the signing of forward Landon Sim to a two-year, entry-level contract that will take effect starting with the 2026-27 season.
Sim, 21, has played 13 games this season in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies, scoring three goals and totaling three points. He also added 18 appearances with the Cincinnati Cyclones in the ECHL, scoring two goals and adding four assists.
Last season, Sim played 54 games with the London Knights of the OHL, scoring 30 goals and adding 23 assists for a total of 53 points. But the reason the young forward could quickly become a fan favorite is not his numbers.
Sim is a physical player who does not hesitate to drop the gloves when necessary and has a complete game. Versatility and physical power do not go unnoticed on any team, especially in a franchise like Toronto.
The Leafs' season ends with their visit to Ottawa on Wednesday, April 15. However, the Marlies are preparing for the Calder Cup playoffs. A more-than-interesting scenario to keep an eye on, Sim.
The young forward was originally signed by the Toronto Marlies on May 5, 2025, to a one-year contract. Well, his strong performance was quickly rewarded.
