The Boston Bruins have their backs against the wall ahead of a win-or-go-home Game 5.
Boston suffered a 6-1 blowout loss to the Buffalo Sabres in Game 4 to go down 3-1 in the first round. It was a frustrating result for the Bruins, who need to win three straight games to advance to the second round.
Ahead of Game 5 on Tuesday, Bruins head coach Marco Sturm said the team will likely make some lineup changes to try and find a spark.
âDonât look at the lines today,â Sturm said after practice on Monday. âItâs going to be different tomorrow. ⊠I need more time with the decision of lineup. There will be definitely some changes tomorrow. Today, there were different areas that were more important than just lines.â
Part of the reason for the lineup changes could be due to injuries, as Viktor Arvidsson left Sundayâs game with an upper-body injury and did not return. He also didnât practice on Monday. Mikey Eyssimont replaced Arvidsson in practice.
âItâs obviously a big loss for us,â Casey Mittelstadt said of Arvidsson. âHeâs been a big part of our team, especially down the stretch, made a lot of big plays and scored a lot of big goals for us. I donât think one guy can do it. But weâll do it by committee. Everyone on this team brings a different thing.â
Marco Sturm has hinted at potential changes to the Bruins' lines, although specific adjustments have not been detailed.
