Tottenham Hotspur have overtaken Manchester United in the race to sign Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi this summer.
Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United are in āclose contactā with the agents of Senesi, who is set to be available as a free agent, having decided to leave the Cherries at the end of the season.
It was added that Chelsea and Tottenham also held talks with his representatives. Now, it appears the North London outfit have made further progress in their pursuit.
According to The Athleticās David Ornstein, Tottenham Hotspur are in āadvanced talksā to sign Marcos Senesi, subject to maintaining their Premier League status.
It is claimed Spurs are āthe leading contenderā to sign the left-footed Argentine, who will become a free agent in July.
However, Senesiās situation remains open with āongoing interest from other clubs.ā
Roberto De Zerbiās side are currently 18th in the Premier League table and two points from safety.
It is extremely unlikely that the player of Senesiās caliber would join the Spurs if they fail to avoid the relegation to the Championship.
Marcos Senesi has decided to leave Bournemouth at the end of the season, making him available as a free agent.
In addition to Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea have also shown interest in signing Marcos Senesi.
Marcos Senesi is currently in advanced talks with Tottenham Hotspur, having made significant progress in negotiations.
