**The build-up…**

I could have been starting the preview for our trip to Wolves, saying we were sitting 8th in the table, one point ahead of and one behind 6th-placed , who occupy a position which currently qualifies for the Europa League. But our pre-match confidence in the Lads beating Forest disappeared in six minutes, just after the half-hour mark. It goes to show, however, that fine line between huge optimism that could have created, against the prospect of avoiding three successive league defeats for the second time this season. The scale of defeat has invited many questions. Most have been regarding the defence and/or our defensive structure due to the fact we’ve shipped in nine in the last two games – a feat we reached in the eight fixtures before Villa and Forest. There have been suggestions that Le Bris change formation or approach, but had we beaten the Europa League semi-finalists, the talk would have been firmly about the potential glory and where this season might stand in a list of one of the best. Fine lines and all that. But, for many reasons, we must finish the season strong. Having lost only four of the first twenty games, we’ve lost eight in the last fourteen, and momentum is huge going into the summer to reinforce for our second season. With Wolves in the mess that they’re in, it’s a good chance to get the ball rolling on that today, with an immediate reaction to last week on display.
