Matt Fitzpatrick and his brother, Alex, won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans on Sunday.

What a week that was in New Orleans for Matt Fitzpatrick and his brother.
Midway through the final round of the Zurich Classic, the two Englishmen were in total control, before disaster struck on the 12th hole.

A double bogey on 12, followed by a bogey on the 14th hole, left them in a tie for the lead.
They parred their way up the 18th before a sensational bunker shot from Matt led to a birdie four which saw him and Alex take the spoils at TPC Louisiana.
Fitzpatrick won the US Open at The Country Club at Brookline back in 2022.
After that victory four years ago, Fitzpatrick was visibly delighted.
However, the 32-year-old Englishman genuinely looked even happier after his brother holed the winning putt from just 14 inches on Sunday at the Zurich Classic.
After the final round, Matt Fitzpatrick was asked how much the win means to him.
“It was a struggle. I was doing absolutely zero to help him. Apart from the putt I made there on 15, you know, I wasn’t really providing much support,“ Matt said.
Matt Fitzpatrick has recorded three victories this season.
Alex Fitzpatrick's victory at the Zurich Classic grants him exempt status on the PGA Tour for two years.
Yes, Matt Fitzpatrick mentioned that winning the Zurich Classic with his brother felt as good as his US Open victory.

“You know, I said, just give us a chance on the last and obviously to hit a bunker shot like that was nice, to give him that easy tap-in there.“
Alex Fitzpatrick was asked how it feels to be a PGA Tour winner.
“It hasn’t sunk in yet,“ he exclaimed.
*“*I’ve got a flight booked for Turkey tonight. So, um, yeah, and then I’m just, you know, it’s amazing to be with him, my mom and dad.
“Just, yeah, a lot of hard work and I just, I can’t believe we’ve done it.“
Alex was then asked whether anything can top winning a PGA Tour event alongside his brother, Matt.
He replied: “I think that’s as good as it gets isn’t it?“
Matt then chimed in with his take on the matter.
“Yeah, I mean, it’s hard to describe,“ the 32-year-old said.
“Winning a major, the U.S. Open, it’s as good as that for sure.“
That’s quite the statement from Matt Fitzpatrick and it proves just how much winning the Zurich Classic alongside his brother means to him.
