Max Holloway has addressed the growing speculation linking him to a rematch with Conor McGregor at UFC 329 on July 11 in Las Vegas, admitting the fight appeals to him for personal reasons while confirming he has not yet received a formal offer from the UFC.
McGregor is plotting his return to action for the first time in five years following the broken leg he suffered in his trilogy against Dustin Poirier in 2021, with UFC 329 emerging as the most likely destination during International Fight Week. Holloway, who lost to McGregor in 2013, has been widely discussed as a potential opponent for that return, and he made clear in an interview with Paramount that the idea of settling unfinished business is appealing.
âI mean, we have history,â Holloway said. âWe fought a very long time ago. I told you guys, if somebodyâs got one over me, I want to get him back. Iâd love to get him back. With him having all this talk of coming back, and everybody talking about how serious he actually is. It looks like heâs training and taking it and really wanting to come back to fight. Itâs exciting.
âHe looks hungrier. He looks super hungry. He just did a boxing exhibition not too long ago, so it was pretty cool to see him. I would just like to get one back. Itâs a huge fight,â he added. âAnything with Conor McGregor is huge, but having history with the dude, being able to get one back would be cool. Iâve got to get my get-backs on one of the guys. If I can keep knocking down the list, that would be great.â
Max Holloway expressed interest in a rematch with Conor McGregor, citing personal reasons and the desire to settle unfinished business, but confirmed he hasn't received a formal offer.

Hollowayâs most recent outing was a lopsided decision loss to Charles Oliveira that cost him the BMF title, and he was honest about the motivation to erase that performance from the conversation as quickly as possible.
âYouâre only as good as your last fight, they say, and weâre going to get everybody forgetting about that last fight as soon as possible,â he said.
Despite the mutual interest, Holloway confirmed no contract has been offered yet.
âMaybe, weâll see what happens,â he said when asked about UFC 329. âIâm seeing all the talk that you guys see. I really didnât hear anything yet, but that wouldnât be a bad time.â
